In line with its much-awaited annual summer release season, Distillery 291 recently debuted the 291 Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch #3.
This limited edition spirit is matured in deep-charred, new American white oak barrels. The barrel select release comes from whiskey harvested at two, four, and five years.
Bottled at 66.7% ABV or 133.4 Proof, 291 Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch #3 has an aroma of graham crackers, cacao powder, cinnamon, white pepper, and cloves. To the palate, you’ll taste fire-roasted oranges and chocolate syrup.
On the finish, you’ll appreciate oak, cinnamon, and citrus notes. No wonder many it has become popular as a bold and spicy bourbon.
According to Distillery 291 head distiller Eric Jett, Batch #3 of the 291 Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the perfect balance between sweet and spicy.
It has wood notes of pine and oak, fruit notes of dried cherries and roasted oranges, and the earthy flavor of rooibos tea.
“But this spice is equally met with dried cherries and cacao powder, along with a touch of earthy rooibos tea and fresh pine sap. It’s an aroma that continues to surprise and entice as more time is spent with it,” Jett remarked.
Distillery 291 is an award-winning whiskey distillery owned and founded by Michael Myers, a former New York City beauty and fashion photographer. Led by his love of whiskey and the old west, the 291 Colorado Whiskey is his passion project and was initially created in a small basement.
With fewer than 500 bottles available, most of the 291 Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch #3 will be available at the 291 Tasting Room in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Some will be sold by select retailers at a suggested retail price of $199.
