Booker’s Bourbon just introduced the first batch in their 2022 Bourbon collection. Called “Ronnie’s Batch” in honor of Ronnie Land, the 2022-01 batch is bottled at 124.3 proof or 62.15% ABV and aged for 6 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

Ronnie Land is a longtime employee at the Jim Beam Clermont and Boston, Kentucky plants when Booker Noe was Master Distiller.

Ronnie worked for 40 years, keeping the inventory of aging barrels in check – a critical element in the bourbon-making process. He was trusted to assemble the bourbon samples for batch evaluation and knew exactly where Booker liked to store his namesake barrels.

Ronnie eventually worked his way up to becoming the warehouse manager.

On one occasion, Ronnie sent Booker Noe a box of samples, but Booker found them too small. Ronnie subsequently prepared new samples that were particularly bigger. This “sample” became the standard size used to this day.

Booker knew he was working with bourbon barrels that met the proper standards if they were under Ronnie Land’s watchful eye and careful methodology.

As with every batch of Booker’s Bourbon [1], “Ronnie’s Batch” was selected by Fred Noe to make sure that it meets the quality set by Booker more than three decades ago.

This new batch is described to have a pleasant and warm finish and rich vanilla aroma with hints of brown spice. The sweet taste comes from all the time spent aging in the exceptional Kentucky climate.

Each batch of Booker’s 2022 collection will be released to the public in limited stocks featuring a unique label to honor Booker Noe.

“Ronnie’s Batch” was meant to be released earlier this year but experienced a bit of delay due to supply chain backups. It is now available nationwide with an SRP of $89.99 for its 750 ml bottle.
