On Monday, Brown-Forman, the company behind Jack Daniels’s whiskey and The Coca-Cola Company, announced that they are collaborating to release a ready-to-drink canned version of the infamous Jack & Coke cocktail.
Inspired by everyone’s favorite classic bar cocktail, this alcoholic drink will simply be called Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola, with both brands planning to keep their labels upfront. The official packaging is expected to promote “two of the world’s most recognizable and valuable trademarks.”
“This relationship brings together two classic American icons to deliver consumers a taste experience they love in a way that is consistent, convenient, and portable,” Lawson Whiting, CEO and president of Brown-Forman Corporation, stated.
“Brown-Forman has been a leader in the ready-to-drink category since we launched our first Jack Daniel’s RTD more than 30 years ago. Coca-Cola perfectly complements Jack Daniel’s [1] and our existing RTD offerings, enabling us to accelerate expansion and continue to grow our business around the world.”
James Quincey, CEO and chairman of The Coca-Cola Company [2], said they always want to keep their consumers at the center of everything they do, especially when expanding their portfolio as a complete beverage company. This includes the development of new products with the iconic Coca-Cola brand.
“We are consumer-focused and offering more choices, including in rapidly expanding flavored alcohol beverages,” Quincey added.
Both regular and zero sugar varieties will be available globally, but the initial launching will take place in Mexico towards the end of this year.
According to the brands, most of these RTD canned cocktails will have a 5% ABV or 10 proof, but it may vary depending on the market. No date was specified when it would be released in the US.
