All About Jack Daniels Bonded Tennessee Whiskey

Jack Daniel’s Bonded, jack daniels bonded price

Jack Daniel’s Bonded Tennesee whiskey is one of the two new permanent additions to the core of America’s best-selling whiskey brand.

To set the record straight, Jack Daniel’s Bonded is different from the 2018 Jack Daniel’s Bottled in Bond because JD Bonded is set for regular distribution.

Jack Daniel’s clocks in at the required 50% ABV or 100 proof, so expect it to be hotter than the Single Barrel Select line and the Sinatra Select. While the age statement isn’t disclosed, it is most likely aged for 4 to 5 years.

History

Jasper Newton Daniel, also known as Jack, introduces the world to his signature charcoal mellowed whiskey. He left home and learned to make whiskey with the help of Reverend Dan Call and Nathan “Nearest” Green. But who taught Jack to make whiskey?

In 1866, Jack Daniel Distillery officially started making whiskey, and its legacy continues until today.

Jack Daniel’s is one of the most popular whiskey brands in the US and other parts of the world. The Jack Daniel’s Bonded is part of Jack Daniel’s first super premium line extension in 25 years [1].

Production & Filtration Process

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Oak Barrels

Jack Daniel’s Bonded is a Tennessee whiskey that follows the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. It means that it should be distilled by a lone distiller during a single season and matured in a government-bonded warehouse for a minimum of four years.

The mash bill of Jack Daniel’s Bonded is fermented for seven days before it undergoes distillation in copper column stills.

After the distillation, it will undergo filtration in 10-foot-long columns of charcoal made from sugar maple wood for a unique mellow process (Lincoln County Process) [2].

Mash Bill

The Jack Daniel’s Bonded is made from a mash bill of 80% corn, 8% rye, and 12% malted barley. As you can see, it uses the same mash bill with Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey.

Moreover, the grains used are top grade to ensure they will deliver a high-quality taste with additional bottle-in-bond certification. Here are some of the top Jack Daniel’s flavors to try.

Age Statement & Release Date

Jack Daniel’s Bonded Tennessee

Jack Daniel’s Bonded does not carry an age statement but based on Bottled in Bond regulations, it should be aged for at least four years in a bonded warehouse.

The expression has been available domestically since May 3, 2022, and will be available internationally later this year.

Jack Daniel’s Bonded is owned by Brown-Forman, one of the largest spirits producers in the world.

The multi-billion company has owned the brand since 1956 and belongs to the top 10 largest worldwide spirit companies by value.

The expression is distilled in Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, the oldest registered distillery in the US. But is Jack Daniel’s bourbon or whiskey?

Compared to Other Tennessee Whiskeys

George Dickel Bottled In Bond Tennessee Whiskey

George Dickel Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whiskey can be a great alternative for Jack Daniel’s, but it can be a little expensive.

You can score a 750 ml bottle for $49.99 of George Dickle in Drizly online. The limited release has a bold and balanced flavor profile highlighting different spices and a touch of smoke.

Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond 15 Year Old

Old Fitzerald Bottled In Bond 15 Year Old is a decanter series released each spring and fall. It is a very expensive BiB expression, and a bottle may cost you around $499.99 in Drizly online.

Unlike Jack Daniel’s, it is a wheated bourbon stored in stunning decanters for Heaven Hill’s premium line of BiB. But what are the most expensive Jack Daniel’s bottles?

Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond

Evan Willams Bottled-in-Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon, and it is a good alternative if you are looking for a budget Bottled-in-Bond spirit.

A 750 ml bottle of Evan Williams is $18.69 in Drizly online, almost half the price of a Jack Daniel’s Bonded.
