FROM AMERICANO TO NEGRONI (Feb. 2nd, 5:30-7:30PM)
Class Notes: Journey through the evolution of a truly classic cocktail, the Americano, born in Milan, Italy. It was originally named 'Milano-Torino' because of the origins of its two primary ingredients: Campari, which calls Milan home, and sweet vermouth, also known as 'Vermouth di Torino' or Italian vermouth. Additionally, we'll find out how the Americano spurred the creation another famous Campari cocktail, The Negroni!
In this two hour class we will start by creating the famous Americano in its classic form followed by two versions (one classic, one with a twist) of the Negroni. Lastly, we will end with a classic amaro based digestif. There will be a special short presentation in between cocktails and a few prizes at the end for the extra sharp ear.
