Class notes: New Orleans is a city that has a rich cocktail history, one that is includes many of our favorite classic cocktails created by some of the best bartenders over the years. Today, the city’s traditional concoctions are more popular than ever -- being shaken and stirred, savored and served, in bars all over the U.S.
During this class, we’ll discuss the history behind some of the city's most iconic cocktails, from the earliest days of the city, through prohibition, to the modern day cocktail scene. In between cocktails, we will turn on some light music and have social time to enjoy the cocktails.
Run of Show: Intro, first cocktail instruction social break/light music (10-15min), food buffet served, second cocktail instruction, social break/light music (15min), third cocktail instruction, social break/light music (15 min), final cocktail instruction, outro, social break/light music.
Cocktail Menu: 4 Full Cocktails. Brandy Crusta, Sazerac, Vieux Carre and the Hurricane. Additionally, we’ll learn their stories and hear about the creators behind these iconic concoctions!
Food Menu: A selection of Cajun and Creole bites only found in New Orleans (like Fried/Cajun Chicken, jambalaya...) + Assorted veggies, dips, hummus, and olives, assorted sides will also be served.
