Aroma

A captivating mix of classic Ardbeg smokiness with unexpected notes. Think medicinal peat, carbolic soap, and a touch of olive, balanced by hints of dried apricot, honey, and a touch of waxy richness.

Palate

The initial sip offers Ardbeg’s signature oily texture. Smoke mingles with surprising sweetness – dried fruits like apricots and raisins, alongside a touch of oak and honey. A hint of eucalyptus adds a refreshing note.

Finish

Long and lingering, with the smoky and sweet elements intertwining. Traces of wood spice like cumin and cardamom emerge, leaving a complex and satisfying aftertaste.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Very distinctively oily, with touches of extra virgin olive oil, sweet briar wood, aromatic herbs (coriander & sage) and a suggestion of smoked lemon peel.

Palate

A soft, oily, mouthcoating texture leads into a rich, sweet, smoky palate with hints of oak moss, treacle, aniseed lozenges and a lovely, sweet, woody/balsamic flavor. Then followed by smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil.

Finish

Finally comes a lingering, sweet/smoky aftertaste, with a touch of cumin, cardamom and the merest hint of coconut.
