Description
This Cameronbridge 26 Year Old single grain Scotch whisky release breaks the mold of typical grain whisky.
Aroma
A surprising complexity greets your nose. Hints of spiced cereal mingle with the sweetness of ripe tropical fruits like mango and papaya, hinting at the long aging process. Subtle notes of hard toffee and oak shavings peek through, foreshadowing the spicy intensity to come.
Palate
The first sip delivers a silky smooth texture, caressing the tongue. An initial burst of butterscotch sweetness gives way to rich caramel toffee. This sweetness is balanced by a spicy-dry oakiness that emerges mid-palate, adding complexity.
Finish
The finish is where this whisky truly surprises. While short, it packs a punch with a considerable amount of warming chili spice. Adding a splash of water can tame the spice and reveal a touch of creamy milk chocolate.
