Powers Three Swallow stays true to its Irish pot still whiskey roots while offering a touch of modern refinement. The use of triple distillation and maturation in second and third fill American oak casks contributes to a smooth and flavorful profile.

Aroma

The initial impression offers a warm and inviting aroma.  Honey and spice notes take center stage, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and perhaps a touch of ginger. Delicate herbal notes and a touch of green fruit, like banana or pear, might also be present. As you delve deeper, a subtle nuttiness, reminiscent of marzipan, might emerge, hinting at the wood contribution from the casks.

Palate

The medium-bodied character offers a satisfying weight on the tongue. The initial taste is a delightful interplay of sweetness and spice. Honeycomb sweetness dances on the palate, balanced by a wave of pot still spice, with cinnamon and clove playing prominent roles. The green fruit character from the aroma translates beautifully, offering a refreshing counterpoint.  The subtle nuttiness from the aroma might also emerge on the palate, adding complexity.  The use of American oak casks contributes a hint of vanilla and toasted wood character.

Finish

The sweetness fades gradually, leaving a medium-length finish. The pot still spice lingers pleasantly, with hints of cinnamon and clove.
