Updated June 2026.
Georgia has no single last-call. Sunday package sales need a local referendum (O.C.G.A. §§ 3-3-20, 3-3-7) — typically 12:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. Weekday package spirits may not sell before 8:00 a.m. or after 11:45 p.m. (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 560-2-3-.02). That rail is distilled-spirits retailers, not grocery beer. The brunch bill is on-sale. Age 21.
Dry and moist counties still exist. Atlanta is not Valdosta. This page will not invent a 159-county table. TIPS and Park Street that print 8:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. grocery statewide are leaking the spirits rule onto the cooler. Grocery beer weekday hours: Georgia beer.
Statewide rails — local law does the rest
| Rule | What it says |
|---|---|
| Sunday default (§ 3-3-20) | No alcoholic-beverage sale on Sunday except as specifically authorized |
| Sunday package beer/wine (§ 3-3-7(p)) | If the local referendum passed: typically 12:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. |
| Sunday package spirits (§ 3-3-7(q)) | Separate referendum; same 12:30–11:30 p.m. statutory window if approved |
| 2018 brunch bill | On-sale, food-heavy rooms, 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Grocery still waits for the package window |
| Weekday package spirits (Rule 560-2-3-.02) | Distilled-spirits retailers: not before 8:00 a.m. or after 11:45 p.m. Local ordinances may be tighter |
| Beer/wine weekday | Local license hours. Do not assume the spirits rule is your c-store clock |
| Saturday-night on-sale extensions | Population ceilings in § 3-3-7 (up to 2:55 a.m. in the largest jurisdictions) are bars, not grocery |
| Election day / Christmas | § 3-3-20: no sale within 250 feet of a polling place during voting hours. Christmas is local, not a statewide close |
A grocery that still has lights on at midnight is not permission. Delivery follows the same package hours as the store — it is not a later clock. Gas stations follow the licensegas stations. Neighbors: South Carolina beer, North Carolina.
