Casamigos Blanco Tequila Overview

Casamigos was founded by longtime friends George Clooney, Mike Meldman, and Rande Gerber (married to Cindy Crawford).

“We have our master distiller… when a new batch comes out, he’ll send a bottle, and George and I will taste it,”

– Rande Gerber, Co-Founder of Casamigos

As Clooney sold the brand to Diageo [1], Casamigos continuously soared high and is known to be one of the fastest-growing tequila brands today [2].

Casamigos Blanco is made from pure agave that underwent extra slow fermentation and cooking to ensure its traditional yet premium quality.

Casamigos Blanco is smooth and incredibly easy-to-sip tequila. It has the right balance of sweetness and kick that blends seamlessly in cocktails.

Casamigos Blanco Tequila Tasting Profile

Hands Holding Tequila Shots

Nose

As we popped the bottle, we were welcomed with the aroma of heavy vanilla notes and excellent hints of tropical fruits.

It is creamy, with earthy agave, black peppercorn, and chili spice which is complex on the nose.

We also picked the aroma of rocket leaves, citrus, lemon, apple, sweet green agave, and some vegetal notes.

Palate

Casamigos Tequila Blanco is sweet with complex notes of vanilla, lemon, tomato leaf, and fresh mint.

There is a hint of oak on the palate and subtle notes of cinnamon and pepper.

Unlike other Blanco tequilas, Casamigos Blanco can be easy to drink because of its sweet taste, but some tequila enthusiasts find it too sweet for a Blanco.

However, it is a good tequila for margaritas, especially when mixed with strawberry and pineapple.

Finish

Casamigos Blanco is a delicious, fruity, and smooth-tasting tequila, and the liquor offers a luscious and long finish.

The peppery agave note at the back end makes it stand out from the rest of the tequilas today.

Our Thoughts

First Sip

Casamigos Blanco is approachable, sweet, and smooth on our first sip. It has the right balance of sweetness that we look for in Blancos.

We noticed it has complex vanilla, citrus, mint, and cane sugar flavors on the nose and palate.

The fruit-forward notes become more evident as it goes down our throat.

Second Chance

We tried drinking Casamigos with ice for the second round, and the palate profile took us by surprise.

We had a lot going there, from the mint, and citrus, to creamy and high vanilla notes.

The ice helps improve the spirit’s taste, making it more palatable and enjoyable to drink. It tasted great with fresh lime juice and salt and blended nicely in cocktails.
