GlenDronach 12 is a Highland single malt Scotch at 43% ABV / 86 proof, matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía, bottled non-chill-filtered with natural color — that is the house brief. Twelve years is a stated age. It is not the 15, 18, or cask-strength batches. Scotland, not Islay.

What the bottle actually is
Sherry-cask maturation is the point of this distillery’s core 12. PX and Oloroso are the two named woods. Non-chill-filtered plus natural color is a process claim on the brief; we are not inventing a chill-filter ppm. A 1.5-ounce pour at 43% is about 1.08 standard drinks.

Lab notes
Nose: sweet creamy vanilla, ginger, then mulled-wine spice and pear. Palate: silky, warm oak, sherry sweetness, raisins and soft fruit, spice, a drier landing. Finish: long, firm, slightly nutty. Rewritten from the house N/P/F. This is the sherried Highland profile, not a peat bomb — if you wanted Lagavulin, that is Lagavulin 8.
