Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 is a single-batch Hennessy cognac from France, bottled at 43% ABV / 86 proof on the 2024 catalog row — three points above the usual US V.S.O.P. It was Renaud Fillioux de Gironde’s first numbered blend after he took the chair. Limited, not a core staple, and not a bottle we will pretend is still on every shelf in 2026. Hub: Hennessy.

What the bottle actually is
Maison copy: a one-time blend that will not be remade. That is a release statement, not a tasting crown. Strength is the useful fact. Core US Hennessy sits at 40%. This SKU printed 43% on the June 2024 scrape. We did not find a live 2026 brand tile that restates the number, so treat 43% as the catalog figure and read the neck if a bottle turns up.
It is still cognac — same AOC, same pot-still eaux-de-vie family as V.S.O.P. A 1.5-ounce pour at 43% is about 1.08 standard drinks. A 750 mL is roughly 18. Do the math on the label if the proof differs.
Lab notes
House aroma talk is pastry and toasted hazelnut — lighter than the spice-and-mango V.S.O.P brief, more bakery than tropical fruit. Palate language is “soft” and “rounded,” which in this lab means less oak bite and more confectionery mid-palate. Finish is described as even from first sip to last. We will not paste the press kit. If you own a bottle, note the batch on the carton; No. 3 is not No. 4.
