Updated March 2026.
These are two Canadian-whisky brands, not a saddle-vs-bag ranking. Canadian whisky must meet Canada’s FDR rules (among them ≥40% ABV and at least three years’ maturation). Crown Royal Deluxe has printed 40% on prior official nutrition and SAQ tiles. Pendleton’s official pages did not print an ABV; US lots typically read 40%, read the neck. A 1.5-ounce pour at 40% is one NIAAA drink.
Hood River Distillers is the US brand owner for Pendleton. That is not the same as naming the Canadian DSP. Related: Crown Royal, Canadian whisky, Buffalo Trace vs Crown Royal.
