There is no official strongest alcohol you can buy. TTB whiskey and vodka floors are 40% (80 proof). NOM-006 tequila sits 35–55%. Some states cap high-proof neutrals; that is a license rule, not a tasting crown. A 1.5-ounce pour at 40% is one NIAAA drink; at 50% it is 1.25.

A 750 mL 40% bottle is about 17 drinks. Four 50% pours are five drinks. Pour math: vodka drinks.
