Courvoisier is Cognac — grape brandy from the Cognac AOC — not whiskey. US Courvoisier V.S is 40% ABV / 80 proof on the Virginia ABC product tile (the brand VS page we fetched did not print ABV). A 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. V.S / V.S.O.P / X.O are BNIC age grades on the youngest eau-de-vie (X.O ≥10 years since 2018), not tasting scores. Beam Suntory owns the house (Jarnac).
