Glenlivet and Macallan are two Speyside single malts, not a contest. Both sit under the Scotch Whisky Regulations 2009. The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old US shop prints 43% / 750 ml (prior this project). Glenlivet 12 typical US 40% is retailer/trade — official US pages have been bot-walled; read that neck. A 1.5-ounce pour at 43% is 1.08 NIAAA drinks; at 40% it is one. Other-market 40% Macallan lots exist. No winner or MSRP.
