Updated April 2026.
Herradura is 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from Hacienda San José del Refugio in Amatitán, Jalisco — NOM 1119 — imported by Brown-Forman. The 2026 brand footer prints 40% Alc. by Vol. A 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. This is not mixto “gold” grocery tequila. We will not reprint a 2022 tasting score or a 2026 MSRP.
CRT classes still apply: blanco, reposado (oak 2 months–1 year), añejo (1–3 years). Herradura’s own pages claim extra time in oak — that is a house story on top of the floor. Related: tequila types, tequila drinks.
Core line (confirm the neck)
| Expression | What the brand says | Caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Silver / Blanco | 100% agave; 40% footer; one page says 45-day oak rest | Still a blanco class. Rest ≠ reposado floor |
| Reposado | Charred American oak; page lists both 9 and 11 months | — contradictory copy. CRT floor is 2 months |
| Añejo | 25 months (brand) | Above the 12-month CRT floor |
| Ultra / other | Cristalino / extra añejo SKUs | Read the class and the NOM |
A 750 mL 40% bottle is about 17 standard drinks. Four 40% pours are four drinks. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. NOM 1119 should match the bottle in hand — if it does not, the contractor changed. Margaritas: tequila for margaritas.
