Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select is single-barrel Tennessee whiskey, commonly 94 proof / 47% ABV on US bottles — matching the 2024 catalog. It is not Barrel Proof (that SKU moves by cask). The catalog tagged Style as “Bourbon”; the legal label is Tennessee whiskey. Hub: Jack Daniel’s.

What the bottle actually is
One barrel, one bottle run, proof usually fixed at 94 for Select. Barrel Proof is the 27 CFR 5.87 band and a different neck. House story: barrels from the hotter upper reaches of the rickhouse. That is warehouse talk, not a TTB age statement — Select is NAS.
A 1.5-ounce pour at 47% is about 1.18 standard drinks. See Jack proofs and Old No. 7.
Lab notes
Nose: rich caramel, toasted oak, subtle fruit. Palate: toasted oak and barrel spice, heavier than Gentleman Jack. The catalog Style field saying “Bourbon” is a scrape-category error we are not repeating in the table. Charcoal-mellowed Tennessee whiskey can meet bourbon’s production skeleton and still choose the Tennessee label.
