How much is Jack Daniels whisky bottle price? One of the most recognizable American whiskies all over the world is Jack Daniel’s. The black label is their best-selling product, but Jack Daniel’s also offers a wide variety of signature blends and flavors.

Our team spent 48 hours researching Jack Daniel’s price and everything we should know about this famous Tennessee whiskey

An Overview on Jack Daniels Whiskey

Jack Daniel's Whiskey

Jack Daniel’s was created in a dry county where distillation is allowed, but selling spirits are prohibited.

All the way from Lynchburg, this American Whiskey is very popular in the United States, with the second-largest market in Europe.

The distillation process of Jack Daniel’s meets all the requirements of bourbon with an additional step of mellowing the spirit using a charcoal filter. The filtering gives the spirits a unique taste.

In addition to this, aging Jack Daniel’s in oak barrels for four to seven years gives color and unique flavor to the whiskey

What You Should Know About Its Distillery

The distillery of Jack Daniel’s is the world’s oldest registered whiskey distillery located in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

The distillery is situated around Jack Daniel’s Hollow, where a spring flows at the base of the limestone cliff. The limestone from the cave removes the iron from the liquid, which makes it ideal for distilling.

Out of few countries in North America, Lynchburg is one of the towns that endures hangovers, so spirits on sale are prohibited, unlike beer and wines.

With the help of Jack Daniel’s nephew, Lem Motlow, the distillation and manufacturing of liquors will be allowed, but selling is prohibited.

Who is Jasper Newton Daniel?

Jasper Newton Daniel is the founder of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey. Before his mother’s death and his father’s estrangement, he was schooled by a slave to produce and distill whiskey.

While his peers were busy loitering in town, Jack refined his own distilling process to make the best whiskey and wines.

His perseverance and hard work character has been rewarded, making the whiskey on the top shelves of any famous liquor store until now. But who taught Jack to make whiskey?

Did You Know?

  • Jack Daniel’s founder is Jasper Newton Daniel, and since everyone calls him Jack, he goes by it.

  • Jack Daniel’s exact birthdate is unknown, so the line celebrates it for all the days of September.
  • Frank Sinatra was buried with a bottle of Jack Daniel.
  • In 145 years of Jack Daniel, there are only seven master distillers.

The Single Barrel Select Series means that it only uses a single barrel alone. The whiskey can develop the perfect flavor instead of blending it across many barrels.

Jack Daniels: Tennessee Whiskey or Bourbon?

Jack Daniel’s is a Tennessee Whiskey and not a bourbon. The process of charcoal filtration on Jack Daniel’s bestows the drink with a smoky flavor before the aging begins, so it is not a bourbon.

Jack Daniel slowly drips through a teen ft. of firmly packed charcoal made from sugar maple.

After going through the extra step of charcoal mellowing, it will be placed in a new handcrafted wood barrel for maturing.

Above the Basic Offerings

JD sells single barrel varieties at $40 – $50 per bottle, twice Jack Daniel’s price. It is because the single barrel has a higher ABV compared to the basic JD.

It can be enjoyed by drinkers who like the stronger taste with less sweetness. Jack Daniel’s original high alcohol version is worth noting as it is closer to the basics.

Compared to Bourbon Prices

A bottle of Old No.7 Tennessee costs about $20 each bottle somewhere in the neighborhood.

Bourbons are somehow a more expensive label with roughly $30 per Bourbon bottle with the same proof and quantity.

However, there is some cheap yet best-selling bourbon that you can score for about $13 per 750ml bottle. But, what’s the most expensive Jack Daniel’s?

Compared to the Other Tennessee Whiskeys

One of the biggest competitors of JD is George Dickel, owned by Diageo. It has a similar taste but higher alcohol content, which also comes with a much higher price.

You can score a 750ml bottle of George Dickel for approximately $30 per bottle.

The popularity of Jack, especially Jack and Coke, created a brand explosion in recent years but compared to Jack, the prices are more expensive.
