  • 2 and ¼ cup sugar
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest (grated)
  • 1 and ¾ cups lemon juice
  • 1 cup vodka or light rum
  • 6 cups of ice cubes 
  • Lemon slices


Combine sugar, water, and lemon zest in a saucepan and stir over medium heat for 4 minutes, then set aside. Combine water and lemon juice, then chill. Add a splash of liquor to the chilled drink, then pour the mixture into a collins or highball glass.
