Everything About Naud Cognac
Naud Cognac is a product of almost a century of shared distilling methods by the five-generation Naud family. Its distillery was established in 1923 in the heart of Pons.
It uses premium quality Eaux-de-vie, all from the six crus of the Cognac region. Naud cognacs undergo double distillation and mature in French oak barrels by their Cellar Master.
This cognac has a bold, fruity taste of orange, peaches, and floral notes followed by a subtle, okay finish.
Origin & History
Naud cognac house dates back to 1923, when Emile Perrier founded La Distillerie du Donjon in rue des Cordeliers in Pons. Emile studied the art of fruit liqueur making in Bordeaux.
In 1936, Emile’s son Jean-Gabriel converted an ancient grain mill of Pinthiers into a Cognac distillery, which is now called Distillerie Perrier. Jean-Gabriel installed up to five copper pot stills made by Speichim and kept in action by his son, Robert.
Then, in 2017, Jean-Michel and Pierre, his son, brought the Distillerie Perrier back to life. This distillery remains the heart of Naud Cognac to this day.
How It’s Made
The Naud cognac house has only produced exceptional selections since 1923. This cognac house mainly focuses on the precise art of its distillation process and uses its traditional methods.
Naud cognacs go through the watchful eyes of Jean-Michel and Pierre. The distillery only uses the rarest, finest Eaux-de-vie from their cellars. They only use grape varieties under ideal conditions.
Once vinified, each wine undergoes double distillation with fine lees using traditional copper stills.
Then, the wines are aged in French oak barrels under the supervision of the Cellar Master for their final blend.
Naud Cognac uses Ugni  Blanc, Colombard, and other grape varieties found in Cognac crus. It also uses blends of white grapes from Grande Champagne and Fins Bois.
Other Eaux-de-vie they use are from Bois Ordinaires, Bons Bois, Petite Champagne, and Borderies crus.
Naud cognacs feature hints of candied orange, rancio, cedarwood, tannins, and vanilla notes. It also has full flavors of nuts, orange peel, and tobacco. If you are a certified cigar smoker, Naud cognac is perfect for you.

- 4 leaves of fresh mint
- 60 ml of Fine Cognac VSOP Naud
- A few drops of bitters
- 10 ml of simple syrup
Instructions: In a Julep cup (rocks glass), lightly crush the mint with the simple syrup. Then, add the Naud VSOP cognac and fill the cup with crushed ice. Stir the mixture until the cup is frosted outside. Lastly, top it with crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of mint and a few drops of bitters. Serve.

- 1 cube of sugar
- few drops of Peychaud’s bitters
- 10 ml of Absinthe
Instructions: In a mixing glass, dissolve one sugar cube with a few drops of Peychaud’s bitters. Then, add the absinthe and the Naud cognac. Fill the glass with ice, and stir.
Twist a slice of lemon zest over the surface, extracting its oils, and add it to the glass. Serve.
