Updated March 2026.
Absolut Original is 40% ABV / 80 proof — the brand’s US product FAQ prints that number, and the US nutrition page lists Original and several flavored SKUs at 40%. A 1.5-ounce pour is one NIAAA standard drink. It is Swedish winter-wheat vodka from Åhus (Pernod Ricard). Elyx is not 80 proof: the Elyx page prints 42.3% ABV / 84.6 proof.
Some flavored Absolut SKUs sit at 38% on the current US nutrition list (Watermelon, Mango, Raspberri, Peach, Pears, Vanilia, Wild Berri, Peppar). Ready-to-drink Absolut cocktails are much lower (about 7–20% on that sheet). We will not reprint a 2021 price grid. Compare vodka, Tito’s, and Grey Goose.

US unflavored vodka must be ≥40% (27 CFR 5.142). A 750 mL Original is about 17 standard drinks; a 1.75 L about 39.5. Four Original pours are four drinks. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. Calories on unflavored 80-proof spirits are the USDA ~97 kcal / 1.5 oz row. Shots: vodka drink count.
