Gimmicks on the aging process and distillation are classic, but Oak and Eden has stumbled on something new- spiral-finished whiskeys.
We know you’re all excited, so scroll down to find out Oak and Eden Whiskey– price, history, and their amazing innovation.
About Oak & Eden Finished Whiskey
Aging in barrels gives whiskey its identity, but Oak and Eden took it to the next level by building their whole lineup of “spiral-finished” American whiskeys.
Each bottle of Oak and Eden features a spiral-cut American and French oak that’s about five inches long inside the bottle.
The company believes that wood makes whiskey taste like whiskey, so the wood-spirit interaction is intentionally made to push the boundaries of whiskey innovation.
While they source their whiskey, the young company is positive about making it smoother by using a spire.
Key Facts
History & Origin
Oak and Eden is a private company founded in 2017 [1], and its headquarters is located in Westlake, Texas. The company was founded out of a hunger for innovation in whiskey.
They pioneered a special technique called in-bottle finishing, where they place spires inside the bottle for finishing.
How It’s Made
Oak and Eden do not own a distillery or a rickhouse, so they source all their whiskeys from MGP in Indiana.
The distillery follows the traditional distillation and aging, and then they are transported to Bridgeport, Texas, for in-bottle finishing.
Instead of using the double barrel process for finishing, they put their fully aged whiskey in a bottle and place a spire before sealing it.
The spiral-cut piece of wood will smoothen the whiskey but will not continue the aging process.
Aging Process & Age Statement
Based on the Oak and Eden website, all of their American whiskeys are aged for a minimum of three years.
The Finished whiskeys, Infused whiskeys, and Collaborations expressions do not bear an age statement.
While they do not disclose the maximum age of the sourced whiskey, it is good to know that the youngest blend of whiskey is matured for three years.
Mash Bill & Alcohol Content
The mash bill and alcohol content varies on each expression, but all Inspired and Infused Series contain 45% ABV or 90 Proof. However, the Oak and Eden Anthro Series contains 58% ABV or 116 Proof.

Key Takeaways
Oak and Eden broke the tradition of finishing in a double barrel by placing a spire inside the bottle of their whiskey. The spiral wood will give the wood a natural finish and a rich and sweet flavor.
It is indeed a great whiskey innovation; however, we only worry about one thing: time. Today, the spire may help smoothen the whiskey.
However, the brand started in 2017. After ten or twenty years, will the wood inside the bottle smoothen the whiskey, or will it ruin the taste? Only time can tell.
