Class first, then the neck
27 CFR 5.148 this fetch: agave spirits are at least 51% genus Agave, distilled under 95% ABV, bottled ≥40%. Tequila is the Mexican type — made in Mexico under Mexican law. CRT this fetch (NOM-006-SCFI-2012): tequila uses Agave tequilana Weber blue variety in the appellation; Mexico may commercialize 35–55% Alc. Vol.; the US import neck still meets the 40% floor. Two CRT categories: 100% agave (bottled at origin) and Tequila (at least 51% blue-agave sugars). Reposado, this fetch: mature at least two months in oak or holm oak. Añejo at least one year. Extra añejo at least three years. Those are class clocks. They are not a tasting score.
Official this fetch, NC ABC: Adictivo Reposado Tequila prints 80 proof (.75 L). Adictivo Double Reposado prints 80 proof (.375 L). 80 proof is 40% ABV. That matches the US floor. We will not invent a house NOM. The official brand site and a CRT brand tile were not opened as a clean NOM lock this run. Recovered NOM 1560 / later 1477 / 1653 chatter is unused. Taste is not a statute
The recovered 2022 review called Adictivo a sweet, maple-and-vanilla gateway bottle, ranked it under Don Julio as “Number 1 Tequila in the World,” and printed a five-SKU price table. Unused as a crown, unused as a score, unused as 2026 MSRP. No shop. Sweet or oaky is palate. Some drinkers want more cooked-agave and pepper; some want dessert oak. That disagreement is not a CFR. We will not invent a 100-point house score or a “always sweet because agave nectar” lock. Agave sugars are fermented and distilled; nectar in a cocktail is a different product.
Recovered aging stories — blanco rested three weeks, reposado eight months, añejo 24 months, extra añejo seven years, cristalino as charcoal-filtered extra añejo — were not on a CRT certificate or a label photo we opened this run. Unused as locks. If a label prints an age, 27 CFR 5.74(c) this fetch treats agave-spirit age statements as optional and as the youngest spirits. CRT class minimums still apply to the word reposado / añejo / extra añejo. “Double reposado” is brand language on the ABC tile, not a TTB type we will invent.
Additives: CRT and TTB both allow certain authorized flavoring or coloring in the broader tequila / agave-spirits lane (5.148 points at § 5.155). A brand website “no additives” line we did not open this run is unused. 100% agave is a CRT category, not a proof that a bottle is “better.” Mixto (the 51% category) is still tequila if it meets the standard. We will not print “one of the few 100% brands” as a fact we did not lock.
Drink it how you like: neat, with leftover salt-lime ritual, or in a mixed drink. Count 1.5 fl oz of 40% as one NIAAA drink this fetch. That is math, not a challenge. Store the closed bottle upright, cool, out of the sun — leftover store-tequila already says glass does not keep aging agave.
