Under $30 is a shelf tag, not a rye class. US rye whisky still needs a mash of at least 51% rye and a bottle of at least 80 proof. Heaven Hill’s Rittenhouse page prints Bottled-in-Bond at 100 proof / 50% ABV — 1.25 drinks per 1.5 ounces. An 80-proof rye is one drink. Tax and allocation can push a bonded bottle over $30. This is not a 2023 ranking.

A 750 mL 40% bottle is about 17 drinks; 50% is about 21. Four 100-proof pours are five drinks. NIAAA binge pattern is a health line, not a target. Pour math: whiskey drinks.
